Prohibited items in luggage

Always make sure that you pack your own luggage or if someone else does it for you, that you always know what is packed. According to the regulations of the respective countries and airlines, there are valid and special luggage regulations everywhere. Therefore, also pay attention to the notices at the airport which items are not allowed. In any case, these items which are prohibited:

  • briefcases with alarms; briefcases with special security equipment
  • items containing lithium batteries or special light sources
  • any explosive items
  • any gas-containing items, such as gas-containing sprays
  • flammable liquids, such as lighter fluid
  • substances that can burn easily on their own or by water
  • flammable substances
  • oxidizing substances, such as bleach
  • toxic substances
  • radioactive substances
  • any hazardous substances, such as sprays, which may cause injury on contact
  • magnetic substances
  • medical oxygen cylinders (upon request only)
  • any weapons

In addition, liquids are allowed to be carried in hand luggage in a zipped 1 liter transparent bag, but none of the containers may contain more than 100ml. Medications may be carried only with existing prescription. Baby food is allowed only as much as is necessary on the trip.
